This webinar focused on the impact of Generative AI on youth job seekers, highlighting opportunities, concerns about misinformation and data privacy, and the importance of responsible AI use. It introduced tools like Magnet’s Path Pilot for resume analysis and emphasized boosting AI literacy.
ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is used by many large enterprises to sort and manage applications. A common worry for applicants is that the ATS is only looking for certain keywords or phrases and the system sorts out their resume. While larger companies use ATS, they also tend to review most resume applications that are received.
In the past, the advice I gave MBA students was to go through similar job postings and information interviews to identify phrases, terms, and types of experiences that are relevant to the job they’re interested in. Now, our Gen AI tool Path Pilot (to be released) will accelerate the career exploration, application, salary information, and interview preparation process. It analyzes your resume and compares it to all publicly available job postings the tool has access to to identify the skills and experiences recruiters are looking for. It’s a dramatic saving in understanding how your application may rank or match a role. It improves your resume by highlighting not only the skills you have but also connecting training resources that help you develop or gain critical skills.
A word of caution towards using basic large language modeling tools like ChatGPT or Microsite Copilot - these tools are useful, but without the correct prompts, they sometimes synthesize experiences that are not real. Explore different available tools, but it’s important to customize and tailor the prompts and results to get the attention of recruiters and not only ATS for the role you’re looking for.
