This webinar focused on providing valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by Generative AI for SMEs, as well as strategies for responsible adoption and maximizing its benefits.
Yes, we’ll provide a link to a course at the end of the webinar. The free 1-hour course, available to your employees or the entire organization, was designed by specialist faculty from Harvard and several leading tech companies we partner with. In a few weeks, there will also be a new portal with a repository to make it easier for your employees to access resources curated by our organization and other organizations.
It’s a challenge if you’re making something publicly available. If it’s on your website, it’s probably being scraped right now. A general rule would be not to load it into a large language model. It should not be something of large concern. The reality of the internet is that what’s publicly available will be scraped.
ChatGPT was scraping every YouTube video, which was against Google’s policy. But, Google was doing the same. Rules are being broken in the large voracious fight for data right now.
Gen AI is machine learning. It can’t connect on a human level with things like empathy. Google had a study - a Gen AI tool still being developed - set up to respond like a family medicine practitioner. They had participants interact online with a panel of real doctors and then with the Gen AI tool. The Gen AI tools were found to respond with a better diagnosis more often than actual doctors on the queries. But, the shocking thing to participants was that the Gen AI was also seen to be more empathetic than the real doctor. It’s a common experience with real doctors that they often just hand a prescription and move on to the next patient.
Gen AI tools can be used to be more productive and reallocate time into things to create the human connection. If you’re overworked, Gen AI can send out more empathetic-seeming responses without using up resources from a real practitioner or individual who is overworked who may respond quickly and kind of terse.
By saving time on administrative tasks, people can reallocate resources to bringing our humanity to creativity and make sure we’re really connecting with each other. It’s taking away the time from doing things that are not high value adds, so you can prioritize the more high value adds. Gen AI is not super creative, it’s pulling knowledge from a huge database. But, human creativity and real human connection are what we can focus on.
